What styles are available to learn here?

How do I know which level/class I should sign up for?

Head to the Classes Page to view all the classes we offer including details regarding timing, location, dates, length, features (what to expect from the classes) and styles that will be taught. This should give you an idea of what class you should sign up for. If you are still unsure, contact us and we will be more than happy to guide you in finding the class that's right for you!

Can I attend classes casually/whenever I want?

No. We value commitment and discipline in our practice of dance. As such, our expectation of dancers is that they attend all classes in their term (unless otherwise hindered by illness or emergency circumstances). Students who do not attend at least 80% of the term may be omitted from performance opportunities.

Where are your classes held?

Our classes are run at Entertainment Works Performing Arts Studios – Level 1, 102 Station Road, Seven Hills NSW 2147.

How do I sign up for classes?

Once you find the class that you want to join, simply follow the enrolment portal instructions. The entire enrolment process is conducted online through our website.

How many songs will be covered in one term?

In one term you will usually learn 1 dance routine.

Will I learn one song dance each week?

keyboard_arrow_down

No, you will be learning one or two dance routines over the whole term.

Do you teach dances to wedding songs?

We only teach Wedding Songs in our Event/Wedding Choreography services for clients who are booking us to choreograph for their wedding or other event. You can find out more here.

Do you teach 1 on 1 or in a group?

How much do the classes cost? How do you pay? Up front or as you go?

We operate on a term by term system of payment, where you pay for the whole term all at once. All payments are conducted online. For a more information of classes and associated fees, please click here.

If you are sick or miss a class, can you make up the missed class? Do you get a refund for the class you missed?

There are no transferrable class fees or refunds available. We can only offer you a transferrable fee or refund for the class you miss on the basis of serious medical conditions/illnesses or an unforeseen emergency. We reserve the right to discern the severity of a reason for missing a class.

How much notice do we need to give before not attending or cancelling a private lesson or dance class?

Where possible, you must give at least 24 hours notice of not being able to attend a class/lesson. This is so that we can monitor attendance numbers per class (if we fall below the limit of required attendance we will cancel the class, however need enough notice so that we can inform other students). Refunds or transferrable class fees are not available. The only circumstances where we will offer a transferrable fee or refund is in the case of class cancellation by us. For all other cases, we reserve the right to discern whether a transferrable fee will be offered.

Where can we buy costumes/accessories if needed?

When the time comes for needing costumes, we will provide you with all costumes/accessories. Each item is subject to a rental fee which covers the costs for cleaning/washing, storing and maintaining the costumes.

What are the times and days of each class? Do you run classes each week?

Do you record the lessons? Can they be accessed and rewatched?

We are currently not running any online classes. Only students attending the classes are able to record at the end of a lesson for their own practise.

What do I need to bring to class?

  • Water Bottle
  • Wear comfortable activewear
  • Yoga Mat (Adult Classes for cool down - optional)

Are there online classes or do I have to be there?

All of our group classes are run face to face only. We do not offer our classes on a casual basis, all students are expected to attend for the entirety of the term. You can find out all of our class information, including days and times here.

Are there any discounts available?

We have two discounts available for our group classes. Please note, sibling discounts are only valid for one use.

Refer a Friend: Receive one class free when you refer a friend to sign up for a term. Only the person making the referral is eligible for the discount.
Family Discount: If you are enrolling two or more members of your family (two children, or yourself and your child) you are eligible to receive 1 Class Free for each student. To receive the discount, you must complete an enrolment form for each student, and ensure all the names of the family members who are enrolling are listed in the relevant field at the bottom of the form. Please note this discount is only available to direct family members such as your own children, your siblings, your husband/wife.

Can I progress to an Intermediate class after one term of being in the Beginner's class?

Progressing into an Intermediate class is determined by an audition. Anyone is open to auditioning, however entry into the class is dependent on your level of experience and technique that you display through your audition.

If I have already auditioned for Intermediate classes once, do I have to audition again for the next term?

No. Once you have auditioned the first time you are applying for the class, you no longer have to audition again, just simply re-enrol.

Do you accept NSW Active and Creative Kids Vouchers?

Yes we do! You can claim your voucher when you enrol your child into one of our classes. After payment, you will receive a refund of back if your voucher claim was successful.

Wedding & Event Choreography

Do you teach dances to wedding songs?

Yes. Event Choreography services can be booked for a large range of events, Weddings are one of them. You can find out more here.

When should I make a booking?

keyboard_arrow_down

We recommend making a booking with us for your choreography no later than 2 months prior to the cut off date of your final lesson or Video Tutorial delivery. Any later than does not guarantee enough time for us to create a choreography and be able to teach it to you properly. Late bookings will incur an additional fee.

How much notice do we need to give before rescheduling a face to face/online lesson?

Where possible, you must give at least 24 hours notice of rescheduling a lesson, regardless of whether it is face to face or online (Google Meet). Rescheduling dates are solely dependent upon our availability and the time of year (peak wedding season).

Do you record the lessons? Can they be accessed and rewatched?

For Face to Face and Online lessons, we allow you to take a video of the progress in that lesson for your own practice. We request that you only use this choreography for your own event and only share if you acknowledge Ekta Creative Dance StudioTM as the owner.

I don't live in Sydney, can I still make a booking with you?

Yes. For those who do not live in Sydney, you can choose between having your choreography taught to you online through Google Meet or through one of our specialised Video Tutorials. See our Events Page for more information.
